It’s Tuesday pretending to be Thursday just like last week. Well not quite, 2 points is not 7 points!

Line 4 AmyT and AmyS: I had not heard that opponents found playing 2 Amys so amusing until 2day and saw 2 Amys roll their eyes expressing their opponents response 2 2 Amys. And note 2 all, we have AmyT–tall Amy and AmyS–short Amy.  Who knew? AmyT wore a fetchingly bright pink print skirt to go with her LegendsRock T.  AmyS was classic and remains firm with her not so new shoes… New shoes might make you taller though I’m not sure about faster… I think you should still opt for the pink capri pants with the very high heels. you have the legs for them…

Line 3 Clara and Sharon: Nothing fetching or humorous about your name combo… I think Sharon and StaCey call and coordinate white frilly skirts. Also note the non Legend ware tank on both.  Sharon is yours lost too or do you just not do laundry like Melissa? Well I heard that in the second point of the match Clara rolled her ankle!!! How she even finished Sharon was not sure.  We hope you got some ice and Tylenol -not ibuprofen or Naproxin Sodium as they will thin your blood.  Sorry that really changed the entire match.  Well, that is what that would do for most matches unless you are playing Andrea who does better without a partner. (Aleece is not bitter…)

Line 2 StaCey and NanCy:  StaCey is still without her Legendware Tank so she went back to the purple.  Note to StaCey you lose in 3 in purple and won in 3 in black… just saying…  NanCy…. ok black bobby socks with white shoes??? Forgivable only because you forgot your tennis bag and were lucky to have tennis shoes. Wait, if you remembered to wear your shoes why did you wear those socks? Still, way to borrow everything else, visor and racket!!! Thank you AmyT for the visor! Note to NanCy no one else will ever have on them a sweatband–remember, they went out with the 80′s.  Props to StaCey for going with the flow, props to you both for earning 1 point! I can’t believe you had to ask who looked frumpy in her tennis togs???? Note to all-NOT a Legend!

Line 1 AAAleece and Melissa: Well, both Melissa and AAAleece matched in their LegendsRock Tanks, though Melissa offset hers with a bright pink skirt. Lovely on her! All noted that AnDDrea wore next to nothing shorts with her tank Melissa brought her forehand and her backhand and her swing volleys.  AAAleece not so much! AnDDrea brought hers too and along with them her rollerskates! Seriously she was everywhere on the court! Could not hit it to her partner since she was off of the court with her drink while AnDDrea covered the entire court! All noted that AnDDrea wore next to nothing shorts with her tank, where did she stuff that ball? AAAleece thought the shorts would be way to small for her but the team as a whole think the shorts only LOOKED small next to the rest of her. But seriously even if AAAleece had that Tank with all that she could wear those shorts… too much junk in her trunk…!  I love how it’s infectious and everyone seemed to notice that AnDDrea had StaCey’s rack but only AAAleece was foolish enough to say outloud seems StaCey needed to shop with AnDDrea for that forehand and backhand!  Note to all, AAAleece needs the forehand, backhand, and the rack!  Note to AAAleece everyone already knew that!  AAAleece and Melissa did well and pulled out a point BUT see AAAleece on losing the 3rd set.  Sorry Melissa! Yes Melissa, Asics are a popular shoe, any color is great go for it. Convince AmyS too!

Clara-we want the skinny on how your ankle is.  Coleen thanks for coming out with us and cheering and for wearing the Legends Rock attire!  Terri, Liz see you both on Thursday and bring those A games and let’s get some more points!  BTW, no one rode with StaCey today and all but Melissa and the recently injured Clara made lunch.  It was fun you are a wonderful group of women!  I know we all want to win, seriously you must know how hard losing is for me BUT I really like this group of women who do NOT make TCD about having to win to be appreciated and loved and supported.  This is the true measure of spirit, to lose and not lose sight of what is important.  Thank you all for that!

Note Alyssa met us for lunch and brought her Clara.  ADORABLE is the best word.  I think we all have a touch of baby envy BUT only AmyS squealed BABY!!!! when they arrived. OMG what a precious gift and how could anyone doubt that God is here when they see someone a precious as an 8 pound bundle of joy???

See you all on the appointed Thursday!

It is not Thursday but it was a TCD day.  And as such it was WINDY! I am not sure about the other courts but on Court # 10 that very wind kept opponents balls in and sent Lengend balls out!  See Stacey and Aleece for that!

Line 4: Sharon and Terri.  No sweat for them but Sharon did appear very comfortable in her jean shorts, blousey blouse fru fru and high heel flip flops! See Stacey for any blouse compliments.  Make up worn on a make  up match day, but not by anyone actually playing… Terri no comment other than we miss you! Freakin’ job!

Line 3: Clara and Amy. Well Amy still has her Legendware and wore it with flare.  Although 3 weeks have passed and STILL NO NEW SHOES!  WTH?? Zappos delivers to your door Amy…see Liz on that.  Clara was the former white and black.  Very classic Legendware but not on the new apparel list of appoved Legendware.  Needless to say I do not know the  scores BUT I believe you both took it to them and were merciless!  Note to all Clara ‘really wanted to win’ again today, and she brought the game to do it! (please use the Venezuelian accent when reading that.) Nice job for 2 points!

Line 1:  Melissa and Liz. Melissa kuddos to you for wearing the approved Legendware AND for bringing your forehand bazooka today.  Also for finding that beloved backhand! (see last season for that)  Rarely do I get distracted while playing BUT today next to that court…. OMG! We were fighting for our lives and we hear WHAM!, then a squeal, then a racket fly, and finally Lilliana landed. Smokin’ forehand that almost cut off her head! I had to smile. Fortunately Debbie apologized for setting that up, which she did and fortunately for us Melissa took advantage of it!  Liz, I suppose doing wash in the middle of the week is too much to ask.  At least you worn the swanky new shoes that look awesome no matter what.  But Teal??? Seriously? Quote of the day for you two, ‘Debbie hits her forehand as hard as any professional I’ve ever seen.’ See Sharon for that. So true and good for y’all that you took it right back at her, or Lilliana…Way to go, 2 points and done in the nick of time before Melissa had to bail!

Line 2 StaCey and Aleece.  Note the capital A for Aleece not just the C for StaCey.  She wants credit for her A—game or something…  StaCey has an A game too but she has some something else, see the dr on that! C’mon StaCey you knew I would go there!  StaCey also has some very BIG girl panties.  Eliza smoked several forehands right at StaCey and StaCey nailed most of the right back at her!  She turned to Aleece and said doesn’t she know WE like that?  Well,  I think Aleece was glad more of those went to StaCey, WE, hmm… just saying…  And though neither Eliza nor Jenice ever smiled thoughout the match and were less than friendly we loved how Eliza felt so close to StaCey as to nickname her Stac!  ‘Thanks Stac for the balls!’ Seriously?  Great first set sorry to fall short in the next 2.  Love to blame it on the weather but we simply did not play as well in the second and third sets.  Note to StaCey, if you want crackers either 1)plan ahead/bring your own or 2) play with Amy S who travels with an assortment of food items.  Also it is rude to ask your partner for food then say, ‘but do you have anything not so  healthy? I don’t like your healthy stuff.” Seriously???Plus you needed sunglasses too? I’m just glad that at 11:29 you were on site!  Oh and I still love the skirt, like the purple BUT it is not on the approved Legendware list…

Coleen we hope your m-in-law is  ok.  We missed you but missed the promised champagne more! NOT  See Sharon on that.  Nancy hope all is ok with your sister sorry for her difficulties.  Terri, that freakin’ job… Amy T I don’t even know where you were but sorry not to see you!  Sharon cheered for all y’all!

Ok, one more note… 7 points with mixed outfits vs 2 points matchy matchy… just saying…

For those of you who are not rained out…

Today focus on how you handle pressure. Are you uptight and anxious or relaxed? You should feel a little nervous but excited and ready to compete. Take deep breaths (in through your nose, out through your mouth) when you feel a little too edgy and try to focus on your footwork. (Up on your toes) when you feel too relaxed. Slow the pace down when you are losing and stay the same when you are winning. Handle pressure by focusing on what you do well as a player/team and enjoying yourself. Good luck

Well it’s a little later than I like but not too late… Wow a Thursday during TCD season that wasn’t TOO WINDY or TOO HOT or TOO COLD so yes that makes the weather JUST right. (Just like in the fairy tales!) As for the outcome for the team… more like a Grimm’s fairy tale!

Nancy thank you for coming to watch on your way out of town.  Please tell Alyssa hello from us!  Especially thank you for chasing after our over the fence ball! See line 3 on that!

Line 4: different day, same tired story of DeFault! StaCey we all hope Addison feels better… freak’n kids!  Nothing more crushing and yet still annoying as your baby with the flu!  Take heart Mom!

Line 1: Coleen and Sharon.  So since we are all sporting our fabulous Legends Rock tanks and Tees one would think there could be little left of fashion to address.   WRONG!  Sharon… while I love the fashion setting skirt of pink (not neon and NOT fag) AND I love the new Asics navy/pink shoes… I am NOT a fan of the white socks! Lose them and you will be GOLDEN. Coleen was tried and true with her Legendary Tee and comfortable quiet nondescript white tennies!  Sorry you guys got the pro…

Line 2: The Amys. Amy S sported her sporty and very much EARNED neon racing shirt with her Legendwear as her go to in the heat.  New shoes needed for you Amy S, not simply because they are white but seriously worn…  BTW  nice highlights in your hair! Going back to blond–more fun anyway–See Amy T on blonds and fun! Amy T your shoes are white BUT they are the Tennis Magazines shoe of the Year Asics gel something or other.  I approve.  BUT this is Texas, I cannot speak to how things are in Georgia BUT here in Texas when it is above 70 degrees we do not wear leggings under our skirts to play tennis. (unless you are Alyssa and you are having laser hair removal see former seasons for that) Just saying… even if you have two of the longest leanest legs on the team…!  Y’all two also had a difficult team.

Line 3: Clara and Aleece.  Clara is also very understated in her shoewear and yes hers are worn and she is in the market. See Sharon for new shoes or shop with Amy S!  Their opponents liked the Legends tank and Tee but thought the Tee would be too warm for May.  Aleece informed them that we hadn’t worn these shirts in May BUT we’d get back to them at the end of the season on that.  Funny thing today, 4 balls were hit over two fences today and NONE of them were hit by Aleece! BUT since Aleece and Clara got the W that is just fine with Aleece to lose that battle!  No big fashion fauxs on this court though Aleece did sport a new look with a wristband and she thinks she kinda liked how it wiped up the sweat between points. Leave it to Sharon to think it taping for an injury! There were some amazing shots hit on that court today and Clara hit quite a few of them!  UNBELIEVABLE angles with several smoking down the line shots! Thank you Clara for your determination to win today and I quote, “I really want to win today!” (please read that with a Venezuelan accent not a Hungarian one as apparently they are very similar–see opponents on that!) See Aleece on insisting on talking longer than opponents when they HAD to converse between points.  See Annette on quote of the day… with Clara serving at 6-5 third set 40-luv she asks, “Is this match point?” Seriously!!! Good for Clara not to fault, good for Lyssa to return, not so good for Annette that Clara returned the return with a smoking forehand down the line!!! Game, Set, Match! 2 points!

I am truly sorry to have missed TinStarr with  everyone, sometimes work is a bite!  I am sure you had many laughs and have planned what we are to do next week at home at 11:30!  Got that ladies? Next Thursday at 11:30 we would really like it if we had 8 people who are available to play, this 7 thing stinks!!!  And we are HOME no long drives unless you are Liz and well…

Not a Legendary start everyone BUT that leaves us room to improve and improve we must! Are we sure we are not in OPEN A?

Here we are at the beginning of another TCD season and although the temperature could NOT have been better I would have ordered just a little less WIND!!  But hey, it is Thursday afterall!

Line 4: Not a banner start with no one to play it but it happens to all of us!

Line 3: Nancy and Aleece.  Good thing for the captain’s gifts or Nancy would have been the odd Legend’s Rock! out!  I still don’t know quite what to make of the head band… I’m gonna spin that one as RETRO and leave it at that!  Nancy…less indoor tennis unless you can order up some windless days!  Note to Aleece, there are NO easy floaters at the net in the WIND!  Not their most legendary play. Note to Aleece when giving your partner advice on where to stay on return of serve, add that it is OK to move once the opponent throws her toss AND perhaps not say it within earshot of said opponents… Sry Nancy! We are blaming it on the clay court balls…

Line 1: Amy T and Coleen.  Amy’s LR T was AWOL.  What the heck???  There is a strict dress code for Legends and well, just saying… I will say that you two were consistent although consistency in this case would not be the type one would hope for. 1-1.  There is something to be said when the newest TCD member notes that Open B players seem nicer than Open A ones.  Note to Amy T that is because we bored the Open A players!

Line 2: Liz and StaCey. Well after lines 4,3, and 1 it would be not be hard to impress us BUT you did!  Way to fight back in the second set down 5-1 and win the tie break! Note to StaCey, yes one can fight back to 6-6 AND then lose the tie break SO kuddos to you both!  Honestly it was wham! Bam! and Wham! some more.  Love y’alls overheads!!  Great playing ladies– the stuff Legends are made of! StaCey gets my unconditional vote for cutest skirt and Liz cutest shoes!  Love Asics and wow they looked awesome on you.  Side note, Terri was not there so let’s see what she is wearing next week… Thank you StaCey for smiling with my C-envy!

Sharon we saw you briefly– thanks for cheering.  Missed you after the match. Missed Clara, Melissa, Amy S and Terri too!

Next week is away at Samuel Grand and I can hear the moans and groans already! It is not in another hemisphere just Dallas.  C’mon ladies…

And let’s try to do some lunch after a 10:00 match!  Perhaps someplace on the way back to Frisco BUT not all the way back!  Terri we’ll leave the planing to you!

Good morning.  Since today is first day of TCD, your main focus is getting off to a good start and feeling comfortable. Make sure your warm up is productive with live ball play and a lot of movement. If possible play a tiebreaker. Go out on the court warm and show good energy and enthusiasm. Up on your toes from the beginning. If you feel your team is a slow starting team, choose to return first. When you are serving, have the better server or combination of server and good net player start serving first. On returns go down the line a couple times in the beginning to surprise the opponent and be very aggressive on poaches. The beginning can produce nerves so focus on one thing only, something like moving my feet or just watching the ball. Good luck

Good morning. Today think about staying in the moment and stay away from being outcome oriented. As your last few matches are played, the tendency is to think too much about what a win or a loss does to your season. ShIfting your focus  to the outcome, can create too much emotion and takes away from your execution. Get your partner on board by using only language that focuses on what’s important now like first serves in, making your returns, and using your strengths. Remember, one of the best sayings to stay in the moment is let’s get this point right here. Good luck

Hello ladies is this really Texas and TCD? Could you even believe how beautiful the weather was today?  NO wind, temperate temps, NO clouds… incredible!  Ok so we were at LB Houston and those courts come sans water and very few creature comforts! BUT OMG the weather…

Thank you LB Focus for 2 points! Before we even hit a ball we got 2 points… the only points but still points! Note to Clara you don’t get the win or the points if you get called in and play, those 2 points now are Melissa’s! Hope your boy is feeling better. “Freakin’ Kids!” see StaCey!

Line 1;  Coleen and Melissa? StaCey?Amy S?  2 points for Coleen for sure she wore the Legendwear today in FULL support.  No errors, no faults, no calories burned…. just saying…

Line 2/1: Sharon and Amy T.  Seriously you two win nice and nicer!  I know because your opponent told me so!  They found Amy’s twohand forehand impressive.  I heard that too!  Hey you were not double bageled so enjoy! See Clara and Aleece T-bar for that! We are glad Sharon’s calf is better, though I think she was hoping Amy S would have come to watch and bring her massage kit with her!  I think we all want that!  Note to StaCey, Sharon confessed that she recently got out her regular bras–the non-sport variety and now believes that StaCey may in fact be a FULL C as her bras no longer seem to fit as she is now perhaps a B.  Seriously you must be joking, because if that is what a B is the A’s on the team–Amy, Amy, and Aleece must be non A’s!!!

Line 3/2: Clara and Aleece.  Ok so pre match Robin decides she is OVER dressed so she UNDRESSES on the court! New T-shirt to replace the long sleeve shirt and off with the pants and on with the skirt. biker shorts and sports bra….! Very Legendlike! (not StaCey or Clara but EVERYONE ELSE!)  Well there were no points gleaned but there were MANY great points! AND there were 1091 calories burned!  Clara held it all together even after Aleece dropped her racket when Clara hit the net on her follow through on a winner overhead!  AND when a let call came when Aleece and Clara had just got the advantage on game point!  Note to opponents, Robin took a HUGE overhead on the calf and will be wearing quite the bruise–look out on overheads to Aleece! Note to Aleece paybacks are a B*!@#  We were close which ‘really pisses’ Clara off and perhaps Aleece too but it was SOLID tennis. Note to Melissa, Aleece thought she was playing with you so she wore PINK shorts and a PINK visor to match and then it did not with Clara.  See Terri for matching!

Line 4/3 Liz and Terri:  Is it just me or could anyone/everyone else hear the grunting and hitting from that court!  It was a tad difficult to stay focused with all that NOISE!!!  Liz I still love the purple shoes, even if they don’t really GO with the PINK.  They STILL work!  Terri the PINK shorts are great the PINK bra priceless.  Note to StaCey, it is HOT PINK  NOT FAG PINK and it is NOT a C or a D… just saying.  Terri brought her new WHITE court shoes and boy did she need them.  She hauled her booty from one end of the court to the other.  I’m thinking over 1091 calories for Terri, Liz… got to say, not so much unless grunting burns ALOT of calories.  In that case HUGE calorie burn! Way to fight back after being down 5-2 in the second set to take it to a tie break.  Shoulda woulda coulda is our newest tag line. Or is it:

LEGENDS ROCK  lunch
LEGENDS ROCK next season
LEGENDS ROCK if only in their own minds

Love this team! Drill is with Paints next week.  Let’s hope we all pick up something from it to use in the matches! Like a forehand or a backhand or volley? just saying….

Good morning. Pay attention to the different ways you can gain momentum today. 1. Winning three points in a row. 2. When your opponents get upset or seem distracted. 3. When your opponents fail to capitalize on an opportunity. 4. The beginning of the second set regardless of who wins the first. 5. When you and your partner are geling. Stop their momentum by taking more time in between points, and playing high percentage tennis. Good luck

Just another Thursday… AKA bend over ladies!  OMG at least it was a beautiful day!  Amy T and Aleece first out on the courts today.  While waiting for the dust from the 9:30 matches to settle a finely attired matchy matchy woman approached them to inquire if they were a team from the Lakes.  A proud “yes” was their reply to which she said, “oh great we must be your opponents.  Are you the 15A team?”  I am not lying!!!  I thought I would LOL but held it in enough to say oh, I’m sorry we’re the Open A team I believe you must be on the other courts!  Hahaah! I told her where to go to check which courts she would be playing on!  I told y’all we were the best 15A team in Open A!  Funnier was Amy questioning how much difference there was between the Open A level and 15A.  When I described how much separation there was she was mortified!!!  BUT she was right, we should have lied and played them!  Maybe we would have won 8-1 instead of losing 1-8!  Just saying….

Line 2: Aleece and Clara.  Painful as it is to lose 0-0 it was worse to be the first ones off of the court!  The only goal we met was to have earned at least 1 point per game!!!  There is our good news!  The bad news is that was all we won in several games!  I have seen enough angle volleys, smoking forehands and backhands and overheads to last at least 2 seasons!  More good news, Aleece did NOT self implode and Clara could still smile with Aleece at the end!  Miracles do still happen!  All I will say is if you are winning 0-0 and an opponents serves an ACE that would allow them 1 game rather than a bagel is not the time to THINK about a call before saying, “Uh, no that is out!” just saying…  And apparently Angela did not have enough to do on her court vs Amy and StaCey, after Aleece hit her one and only down the line winner off a Kayla serve Angela scolded Kayla with “you could have got that!”  I think under her breath Kayla muttered, “Why bother I’ll just get the next point!” or perhaps, “I don’t do run and I’ll win anyway!”

Line 1: StaCey and Amy S.  I think StaCey had it right, “we were up 2-1 in the first set, we should have faked an injury and lost while still ahead!”  There is logic to that reasoning… StaCey had our uniforms down with just enough accent pink to make everyone save Melissa and Terri to make us jealous. Note Terri’s PINK bra was bright, StaCey’s not so much.  Perhaps a new ‘C’ is in order for Stacey.  Or a new bra… Hmmm StaCey but really StaDey.  See Sharon N for the C’s and the sparkily/lacey bra, thanks for sharing.  Wonder does Sharon play in a bra like that? Tennis, play tennis in a bra like that!  And yes StaCey your Legends Rock was more like Legends ROCK .  Amy the ladies on our court wanted your legs but I pointed out to have them they would need to run more than one marathon AND at an 8 something pace!  OMG!! See Kayla for not running…  Nice playing you two! Don’t think we’ve forgotten our former resident DD girl, Krissy.  I believe Amy called StaCey Krissy once or twice today but without the Hon or sweetie.  Looks can be deceiving, but StaCey never sounds like Krissy.

Line 3:  Coleen and Amy T.  Well Amy sorry you are not going to get smiling opponents!  And yes it is because they are bored and can hardly enjoy this nice weather because we are just not competitive enough for them.  Oh well….  Yes your scores were closer but it’s never good when you’ve just lost to someone and then they tell you “oh, btw I fell yesterday and wasn’t sure I could even play today.  I did not know if I could hit a backhand!” But she did and apparently more than one!  Still you were the second to last on the court so no doubt burned more than the 605 calories Aleece burned.  Much more than the 250 that StaCey burned!  Note to StaCey, get a new watch that works!!!

Line 4:  Melissa and Liz.  Melissa we love your pink ruffle skirt!  StaCey has ruffle envy but as we all noted our butt would NOT look like your butt so we are NOT going with PINK RUFFLES!  Wise choice Liz to avoid this!  Although we think you should have worn the now infamous Legends ROCK or in all cases except StaCey Rock!  You guys had a great match, way to fight in that 3rd set.  1 POINT!!!!  Someone should post on FB how great revenge is… or maybe just not losing 0-8.  (do not ask Aleece and Clara about this)  We really thought you two had them when you climbed back after being down in the 3rd.  Still we are happy to accept any points!

Terri thanks for the champagne.  Note to Janet, we ALWAYS have champagne to celebrate our good fortune to be able to be out in weather like this doing something we love with people who bring joy into our lives!  And after explaining how she was able to defeat Coleen and Amy T with her injury, she consoled us all with, “at least you only have to spend 1 season in Open A…”  OUCH!!!!  I mean this team can throw some serious smack and not even try!! Sharon we are glad you came to watch us too.  I think that you mostly came to have Amy S massage your leg.  Next practice watch out Amy I think I foresee a glutal injury in my future… you do do glutes don’t you?  I won’t for get the lotion, sunscreen, or other…

I think from now on we should all simply take turns playing against Paints, or Oscar, or David, or Dusty…  then we will be prepared for what we will be up against.  Enough of just playing against the likes of Legends!! We aren’t good enough practice for what we have to play against!!!  But hey none of that matters because we really do get to celebrate what it is to just enjoy the pleasure of the weather, playing and each other!  Truly Legendary!

Carillo
